OK so I was really excited about the Xfactor Adsense system. Well, I still am but I suffered a setback this month which took the wind out of my sails! I am working on 4 of the sites right now. The one that was doing really well for me just disappeared from the SERPs last week. I finally found it today at #355!! WTF? So it is still indexed but Google thought that a previously #2 site needed to be kicked in the gut and tossed out of the top 100. What gives? I thought it would be back before a week was up but I was wrong. I added another page of content and did some pinging and some of Angela’s backlinks. I wonder if that is the reason? I am wondering if I should just let it go for now and see what happens? The site was up for one month on page 1 – I earned $91.11 from the big Adsense block and $8.55 from the links in the right column. Almost $100 in the first month! Plus I earned $22 in affiliate sales. I am wondering if I should switch it over to a WordPress blog? It’s just an HTML template I made at the moment which I think is a PITA to update. Anyone have some advice? I guess that is just how it rolls with Google.
The second site I am working on is moving up from #70 to #16 as I am submitting all the articles. I actually hired someone from oDesk and she did a great job on the site content and the marketing articles. I decided to try out Infobarrel and Xomba like Amy has done to see what happens. Actually, I did 2 Ezines, 2 Go Articles and the rest split between Infobarrel and Xomba. In the last few days, I’ve earn about $1.30 for a handful of articles so not a bad start! Speaking of Infobarrel, all the articles I did got indexed right away except the one that links to – you guessed it – my first Xfactor site! It was 2 weeks before I saw it indexed in Google then POOF it was gone the next day! This is why I think there is a conspiracy against my site LOL That is so WEIRD. I think I will submit another article there with backlinks to that site and see what happens.
The third site has only 3 pages of content because the first writer I hired only did 3 of the 21 articles I requested. She basically bailed on me without any communication except to say she had to pawn her laptop but she had it back and would get the articles ASAP. That was 10 days ago. Live and learn I guess – I paid half up front. I will never do that again!
The fourth site was also ranking pretty well without any promotion but I still need to get keywords together to get some articles ordered. I may try Cyberhub again for that.
So that is my update. I guess I will finish up these four and keep on plowing ahead. I am a little concerned on the number of sites that I am seeing in the Xfactor style. It’s truly amazing. I guess it will probably die down though soon as people get tired of writing articles LOL

Wow $100 USD on the first month! That’s awesome. And THAT IS MY GOAL for now using a something similar to John’s method ( I cannot write as much as he suggests )
I did $4 on my first month ( didn’t really know what I was doing ) and about $20 on my second month.
I did $18 during the last 7 days and I hope I reach $100 for december.

Wow! $100 you first month! very nice! I have about 11 sites completely built and back linked with articles and I have probably only earned about $10-$15.00 since I started Sept. 28th. You are doing fantastic!
Like you, I am hoping that the amount of people following xfactor’s system dies down. I think they will just as you said, they will grow tired of writing content. I think we’re just sorta used to that already from Amy’s system. lol
Sorry to hear about a bad run-in with an oDesk writer. I have about 5 ladies that i use every week and they have all been wonderful. Occasionally they might ask for a 1-2 day extension on an assignment but because I know they do excellent work and they aren’t flakey, I am happy to allow it.
What happens if someone bails on a job. Can you complain to oDesk?
I can see why you were excited, getting $100 in the first month! Wow! I wonder what it was that sent it back though? Personally I think Angela’s backlinks are a bit dodgy unless you spend time to actually write blog posts or proper entries at the sites you post at. But I don’t know. It could be it sent it down and it will just take longer to come up again.
It’s a shame about that writer. But I have to say though, as someone who writes for others, I’ve been completely burned the other way round – not getting paid and not getting a response. So I do ask for 50% upfront sometimes. It’s a shame that others like that give all writers a bad name.
Anyway, you had great success with that first site! More than many people have seen, though I can understand it put you off. Keep trying though, I’m sure you’ll do well with some of the others.
