Whew, this roller coaster/yo-yo thing is giving me a headache! When I last posted, my XF site fell off the map again but apparently, I caught it in some kind of short lived shuffle because it came back within hours to #1! Since then, it has settled in at #2 while my .org version is #3. Earnings started picking up this week and yesterday, my total Adsense was $46.05!! That site alone made $34.60!! I am so excited about this but I realize that my site could vanish again. I’m hoping it’s there to stay. My experience has been that once you get to the top 2 or 3 for awhile, then you will stay there. I have two other sites that have been at #1 for months and months without me doing any work to them. One is my first TNB blog and the other is a Clickbank sniper site. My first adsense goal is to average $50 a day. I am in the process of finding new KW to get more sites going and backlinking like crazy to get my other XF sites ranked higher. I continue to use Angela’s links and they are working! Edit: OMG I just looked at my stats at there was one person who spent an hour on the site and they clicked 20 Adsense ads o_O!!! I hope that doesn’t cause me a problem! I don’t think it’s any kind of sabotage because they came to my site searching Google with a long tail KW. Yikes!
For all you XF followers, just to recap, this site of mine gets 9900 global searches (exact) a month but local search in December was 14,000. The competition in quotes is only 24,300 but I rarely look at that number anymore because I don’t think it means much. You have to look at the competition on page 1. At the time when I set this up last Sept., the front page was mostly PR 0-1 with the top spot a PR4 that was not optimized. I have already beaten that site a couple of times so I think with more backlinking, I could get back to #1.
Just for fun, here is my traffic since last September when I launched the site and the Adsense earnings. Excuse my poor Photoshop skills LOL Hopefully this demonstrates that SEO does work if you pick the right niche with the right keywords and work your tail off doing backlinks

1. I think EZA is still good for backlinks but what people are realizing is that you are helping EZA make more money with the adsense on their site. That is why people like Infobarrel and Xomba because they share Adsense revenue with you while still giving backlinks
2. Yes, that is what I have done. I guess I haven’t used it enough to see any kind of problem yet with that.
3. Yes, the site that was doing well actually has just 3 pages LOL
4. I do Angela’s links primarily one month at a time, wait a week and see what happens. Sometimes you need to do more than one month’s worth. Depends on the competition. I’ve actually started using a different automated software for her links that I will blog about sometime soon, I hope!
You need to use a traffic counter of some kind. I use both Google Analytics and StatCounter. I really like StatCounter because you can see in real time who the visitors are. You can see their IP address and which pages they looked at. You can also see what keywords people typed in to get to your site. I recommend using one or both of those on your sites. http://www.statcounter.com has a free version.
Wow, that is awesome. I wanted to ask you a couple of things:
1) Do you think ezinearticles is not as useful for backlinking as your traffic sources? For xomba do you do the bytes or the blurbs (or both)?
2) When you use comment kahuna do you use your keyword as name? I like it but I found with wordpress blogs it’s easy to get put in the akismet spammer list even if your comments are good and your blog is not spammy. I think people may just report it a lot and then you can’t post anymore with your url on wp blogs.
3)Is your main site making money a 5 page site like John recommends?
4) Did you do angela links for a few months straight on it primarily? Thanks!
How can I check if a person come to the site searching Google with a long tail KW and how do I know if the clicking is done by same person? Thanks
That is my primary tool right now but I do some of my own blog commenting with the free version of Comment Kahuna and I also try to track down .edu and .gov links if I can. I still do some article marketing too, primarily at Infobarrel and Xomba.
Do you only use Angela’s links for backlinks?
Well, it turns out that was someone click bombing me! So I can’t count that. I reported it to Google but so far the money is still in my account. We’ll see….
Wow, one site earning $30 a day is awesome! Good for you Sara! Here’s hoping that you find more nuggets like that!
Impressive stats. Last I wrote here I was doing single digits on adsense earnings per month. I am now upto 100 usd monthly but you’ve been much much better! Thanks I should work on my running shoe blogs faster!
Congrats Sara! Awesome news!
How funny, your “live traffic feed” says I’m from Forbestown, CA and I’ve never even heard of this town.
