May Earnings - Big Milestone!

I’ve very excited to report that I had my first $1000 month! My adsense went up a little but I have been adding other monetizing methods to sites I already have. I’m also doing well with Zazzle so I will start reporting that income, even though it’s not technically from niche blogging. I have to say, it’s really hard to believe that I am making money doing this after hours. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and wish I could speed up the train LOL I can only do what I can only do but I know I’ll get there eventually. I am 33% of the way to my goal!

I also got my first commission from TNB after all this time! So many people click though but only one has gotten a membership. In case anyone is doubting the program, I do want to stress that it really does work! It’s just that you have to be patient. You aren’t going to make bank in a month, plus the learning curve with IM in general will mean that you will spend time just figuring out the basics (that is not just a TNB thing either). OK, end of commercial!

I’m also pleased to tell everyone that thanks to my friends Mr. Google, Mr. Clickbank, Mr. Amazon and others, I am now the proud owner of a brand new Apple MacBook Pro 15.4-Inch Laptop! I was able to pay for it right out of my business account without batting an eye and for that, I am grateful. I am obviously not paying myself anything so all the money I make goes back into the business. I also bought Parallelsso I can run Windows 7. All of my IM software is Windows based but I love the Mac OS and stability so why not combine them? One major problem I was having was that all of my IM stuff was spread out among an old Windows laptop, our family iMac desktop and the Netbook I take to work so I can get online during lunch with my mobile broadband. I’m in the process of copying files and getting everything set up and organized. I did not realize how much software I had! Anyway, on to the totals:

Adsense $483.48
Clickbank $165.73
Amazon $21.34
eHow $16.74
eBay $3.77
Linkshare $4.36
CJ $87.56
3rd party program $30
Automate Angela’s Links $5
Niche Blogger $9.98
E-product $115.71
Chitika $0.24
Infolinks $6.95
CPALead $21.56
Zazzle $48
TOTAL $1020.42

  • I just came across your blog and have to say that breaking that $1000 a month milestone is awesome. I am definitely looking forward to hitting that milestone myself sometime soon. Hoping your June earnings are doing as well, or should I say better!

  • Gil – I started niche blogging with Amy’s program in October 2008 – so little over a year and a half. Don’t forget that I work full time too! If I could put in 12 hour days, I’d been retired on the beach by now LOL

I did have quite a bit of experience with web design before that and had earned a little with affiliate marketing (but didn’t really know about SEO or other IM stuff)

Congrats on your milestone! I have been reading your blog for a while, but this is my first comment. How long did it take you to go from $0 to you breaking $1k, if you don’t mind me asking?

  • Dev – this is for all of my blogs together. The WAHM site itself doesn’t make much.

  • Hey Sara,

Glad to see you breakdown that 10000$ milestone. Keep it up.
Btw. Is this income from other blogs or wahmtobe?

Thanks for sharing this great post. I’m impressed.

  • Congrats, Sounds like you found a good plan of action to work against. I find most of my income to come from ebay but its definitely a item to where you have to find the right niches to be successful in..

Keep up the good work and hope to catch you one day =)

  • Great job on reaching this milestone!

  • James – I haven’t updated that page in awhile – thanks for the reminder LOL I have a lot more than 6 sites!

  • Jen

Congrats!!! That is great. Very inspirational!!!

  • OK…last comment — not spamming, I promise — but I just read your “My IM Projects” page — you only have 6 sites?

WOW. NICE milestone! That really puts things into a sharper focus when reading this post. Very cool!

  • Ha – just saw the footer of the blog here — you’ve *totally* customized this theme! Nice.

  • Nice! I’m still new to the whole IMing thing/blogging about it all — I will have to take your cue and post my May totals — what a fantastic month for you! Very good news, and inspiring to read, since you’re **busy!!** which gives me a little boost of energy (moreso than this 3rd can of Diet Dew…).

AND I love how you integrate your Amazon aff’s so seamlessly. I learned a few things from your post, not to mention a few more places to aff with.

Re: MacBook — first off <==envious!

Secondly: I have always wanted the security of a Mac, but I have so much software on my PC that I thought moving over to Mac would be foolish. Never heard of "parallels" <==um, just joined the 21st century…

  • I would say that about 5-6 sites make 75% or more of the Adsense. The rest make a few bucks here and there. One site alone usually makes about $200 a month in Adsense. I have one site that makes money from Clickbank.

Congrats!! It always feels great to reach a milestone. How many blogs bring in the majority of your income?

  • So glad to see you passed the $1000 mark, that’s fantastic!! And what you said about being 33% towards your goal – I bet the next two thirds will come round a lot quicker.

  • Congrats on your milestone!

  • May looks like it has treated you well. Congrats for reaching a huge milestone! :)

  • Kim

Congratulations!!!! That’s so awesome. It’s posts like these that inspire me to stick with it! Especially when you’ve got a family and are also working a job. Learning how to balance blogging, work and family is a challenge for myself and some other members.
