My IM Projects

Updated: 9/6/10

This page is a summary of the projects I’m working on. I’m muddling my way through this IM stuff and hopefully sharing as I go along is helpful to the few dozen folks that read this on a regular basis LOL. My main goal: PASSIVE INCOME! This is what I need to set me free from my 8-5 job. I have lots of ideas for more active income but I can’t handle that right now with working full time.

I have way too many domains now to go through them one by one and discuss where they rank, etc. So I will give you a broad overview of what I am working on now.

Niche Blogs

A majority of my sites are niche blogs – maybe around 50 or so. They are a mix of larger Niche Blogger style sites and mini niche blogs. The mini sites have all different monetization methods and were largely based on XFactor or Google Sniper methods. I’ve got some Amazon sites, Ebay sites, Commission Junction sites, Clickbank sites, etc. My main focus as of this update is to add tons more content to all the best sites I have and really promote them fully. I was relying too much on the exact keyword domain, my interpretation of low competition, and a little bit of promotion to bring in the organic traffic. It was working great until Mayday/summer/gremlins took away half of my traffic and half of my earnings. I am going to be spending some time studying my sites and reworking them – I’m not creating any new ones for awhile (although Christmas + Amazon tempts me LOL). There is no use in wasting all the work I’ve already done by letting half-done sites just sit around.

E-product #1

I have one site that sells a little product for a few dollars. I stumbled on this niche when looking for something else. It’s turned out to be making a little cash for me. It’s just a static page and the only marketing has been a few bookmarks but I did place links on several other sites (like Yahoo Answers) where people were looking for a solution to the particular issue (which I of course now sell :) ) I get on average 100 visitors a day. I wish I could figure out how to keep selling to my visitors with a list but I think the niche is so narrow and once they buy the product for a one time deal, then there isn’t really anything else to sell them. Hmmm.

9/6/10: This product is in the education niche and so I don’t make many sales in the summer. It peaks in the spring at the end of the semester but fall does OK too. I added a second domain that has a better keyword phrase (the first one I chose without knowing how to do KW research very well). The second domain I offered a watered down version of the product in exchange for the visitor filling out a survey from CPALead. It will be interesting to see how this one does now that school is back in session.

Ehow

I have 19 articles posted that makes about $20 a month on average. Since they switched to using Demand Studios writers, I haven’t written any more.

Zazzle

This has been an interesting surprise. I stumbled on a particular niche looking for something else and whipped up some products to sell in Zazzle that I could also sell on my niche blog relating to it. Turns out the product in Zazzle is making about $50 a month on average! And it’s targeted to UK residents. I’m brainstorming other ideas for this site.

Future Products?

I’ve got a couple of ideas that may allow me to get into the IM niche – not that I want to become a “guru” but I think I have the potential to help others earn money! But I need to actually test and refine my ideas before sharing. As I rework my old blogs, I’m going to experiment with some promotional things and hopefully share that with others in the future (if it works like I hope it will!) Stayed tuned!
