Hey everyone – it’s that time again! I’m a little late posting this. We’ve been sick at our house. Anyway, I am SO excited about this last month. I earned $709.40!! Several things fell into place this month to make that happen. First and foremost, my disappearing Xfactor site made a return and I discovered it was my own fault that it went away! I messed around with the robots.txt file and made a typo. Forgot that I did that and so when Google re-spidered my site, bye-bye it went! The robots file tells the search engines what they can visit on your site. So I fixed that and in a few days, my site was back in #2! I also bought the .org for that phrase which is sitting at #3 as an affiliate site! It also has adsense on it. My articles at Xomba and Infobarrel that point to those sites brought in some Adsense too. I have been using them both for article marketing. Combined, they made about $15 in November.
I also started up a few Christmas sites that did pretty well at the end of November with Amazon. I got into the 6.5% referral rate! I’ve already made about $75 in December but I think that has peaked already because of the particular keyword phrase. I’m definitely going to have to hit on Christmas harder next year. It’s great – people feel a sense of urgency with a deadline and they are buying the products I recommend plus a bunch of other stuff! I got a nice $12 commission from someone who bought a $200 gift certificate. Whew! I also had someone buy the expensive Beatles box set with my link!
I also wanted to share an idea with everyone that I had. There has been some discussion in TNB forum about how much harder it is to find Xfactor domains to buy. Lots of the obvious product keywords have been taken already. But, there are still plenty out there – you just need some inspiration! Here’s the tip – use the newspaper ads and catalogs you get in the mail to get ideas! I got a whole list to research after going through the Thanksgiving Day ads in the paper LOL I also got a couple ideas from when my Dad was talking about home improvement things over the holidays.
So keep your eyes and ears open for niche ideas!
